Penzance has a mild climate, with sub-tropical gardens. There is a harbour, a long promenade and a good shopping centre. It also has a heliport and the Scillonian ship providing transport to the Isles of Scilly. Cultural institutions include the Geological Museum & Society, the Morrab Library and Penlee Art Gallery & Museum. Adjacent to Penzance is the village of Newlyn, famous for fishing and art.
