About the Mobile Library Service

Our fleet of mobile libraries visits villages and hamlets fortnightly throughout Cornwall: a mobile library probably visits your village already.

The routes are on a fortnightly schedule, starting on Mondays, week 1 and week 2.

Joining

When you first visit a mobile library, membership is free and it is easy to join. You will need to be living, working, or studying in Cornwall, Devon, Plymouth, or Torbay for more than one month.

Temporary membership is open to individuals who expect to be resident in Cornwall for less than one month, on deposit of a valid home library card, or similar identification, or £10.

You will need to provide proof of address.

If you want to reserve books from the on-line catalogue you will have to ask for a branch library card.

You can join online or view the Borrower Registration Form which can be printed off and taken to your mobile library with proof of address.

Borrowing and Renewing Material

Please ask on van for details of what we carry. A small rental charge applies to all items except books.

If you are going on holiday ask for your books to be issued for longer than usual to avoid worry about getting them back on time.

There is no need to renew mobile library loans of books and non fiction videos as no fines are charged on mobile libraries for books and non fiction videos.
