7 The Challenges Arising from Consultation
Recognition of the ongoing needs of the local community in terms of travel and transport is fundamental to the development of the LTP2. Whilst there are a wide range of practical issues that need to be considered e.g. the location of new housing, employment, delivery of public services and travel to work issues, it is also equally important to take into consideration the views of local people.
This chapter focuses on what is considered to be the key consultation exercises that have been carried out in order to inform the developing LTP2 strategy.
In addition to the consultation work set out in this chapter, there have also been numerous and ongoing consultations that take place with key stakeholders and partners on a regular basis. These have helped to inform strategy and individual scheme development.
