5 Bus Services and Accessibility
Given the predominantly rural nature of Cornwall, the ease with which people can access services such as work, healthcare, education and shopping is a particularly important and challenging issue. We have always recognised the importance of ensuring accessibility in Cornwall and the County was awarded Centre of Excellence status for Integrated Rural Transport in 2001. Bus services play a key role in ensuring that, where appropriate, people are afforded a reasonable level of access without having to rely on the private car.
