1 Scope of this Strategy

This strategy sets out how Cornwall County Council will make the school journey healthier and more sustainable using the School Travel Plan (STP) process. A strategy for the next 5 years, this document outlines how we will work towards meeting both Government and County targets. It sets out our vision for the future and how this vision will be developed and maintained, with consideration to national, regional and local policies, and the resources available. Examples of the progress and good practice already taking place in Cornwall are provided, in addition to identifying current and emerging problems and opportunities to enhance the delivery of STPs. Finally this strategy identifies realistic STP objectives and targets for Cornwall - highlighting the real opportunities that exist to achieve change.
