Tony Bradman
Friday 8th September – Saltash and Torpoint Libraries
Free to specially invited schools

Children’s writer Tony Bradman, best known for his books Daddy's Lullaby and Dilly the Dinosaur, which have sparked the imagination of children all over the world, will be visiting two Cornish libraries to talk about where his stories come from.

David Evans - Harold and Laura Knight: A Partnership of Painters
Friday 15th September Penzance Public Library (01736 363954)

David J Evans, arts lecturer for NADFAS, NACF and the National Trust, will present a talk and a slide show about the life and art of Harold and Laura Knight, from their early days at the Nottingham School of Art to the development of their individual styles influenced by Holland’s Hague School. Interestingly, Laura became the first artist to be made a Dame of the British Empire.

Ann Kelley - Because We Have Reached That Place – poetry reading

Ann Kelley believes poetry not only soothes the soul but the body too. She is a prize-winning poet who lives on the edge of a cliff in Cornwall with her family and runs poetry therapy courses. She also has a passion for photography and combines words and images. Her last book, The Burying Beetle, released last year, was loved by children and adults alike. It is a book of hope and happiness.

This is an exciting event for the poetry group. The reading celebrates the success of the group so far and launches its first pamphlet, Inspirations, which is the culmination of much hard and dedicated work over the last few years. If you like poetry, and value community, it would be a crime to miss this event. 

Moon Hut Writers – Happy Ever After?

Entertaining tales written and read by six authors.  Moon Hut Writers invite you to enjoy insights into love, startling revelations and a good helping of humour.  Refreshments provided.
