On receipt of this call, both appliances from Falmouth were mobilised, on arrival Fire Control were advised that there were 'persons reported' and 'smoke issuing' at the scene and further resources were requested, an appliance from Redruth was alerted and a land rover from Falmouth were mobilised. The fire, involving a tumble dryer, started in the basement of a four storey building, the fire was confined to the basement area but the property was heavily smokelogged. One person was rescued using a ladder and was then transferred to hospital by ambulance suffering the effects of smoke inhilation. A total of six firefighters waering breathing apparatus were committed to the building to search the premises, a hosereel, two jets and the positive pressure fan were used at the incident.
