At 1723hrs a farmer requested Brigade assistance as two cows were trapped in a slurry pit. Two appliances from Delabole, the rescue tender and a further appliance from Bodmin and a specialist vehicle from St Austell attended. One cow walked out of its own accord but the second animal was reluctant to be assisted. However, using animal rescue equipment, with crews wearing dry suits and a tractor this cow was finally extriacated from the slurry pit at approximately 1930hrs. Both cows were left in the care of the farmer and a vet.
