Chimney Fire

Firefighters from Falmouth attended a fire in the chimney of a wood burner. The crew used a thermal imaging camera, stirrup pump and rods to extinguish the fire by 1645hrs.
General Fire Safety Advice:
Most chimney fires are preventable. Regular inspection and cleaning of chimney flues will help prevent fires within chimneys. Have your chimney swept by a competent chimney sweep at least once a year.
