Several calls were received to alert the Brigade of this incident. Two appliances from Bude were mobilised and on arrival they found the building well alight and requested another appliance. The fire involved a derelict hotel of two storeys approximately 20 x 30 metres with the fire coming through the roof, another appliance was mobilised also the aerial ladder platform from Newquay. Arson was suspected, the Arson Task Force officer was at the scene. The fire was finally extinguished using 3 jets. All appliances returned home at approximately 2300 hours.
