Gorse Fire
Just off A30, Temple, Bodmin Moor at 20/03/2009 19:14
Initially one fire appliance from Bodmin was mobilised to reports of a gorse fire about 50 metres from the road. The crew requested further assistance as a large area of gorse was well alight.
Two further fire appliances, with off-road capability, from Bodmin and one Callington fire appliance, with off road capability, that was standing-by at Launceston were sent.
The firefighters used beaters and hosereels to extinguish the fire, which covered an area of about ten hectares, by 2020hrs.
