Gorse Fire

On the initial call to Fire Control for this incident crews from Penzance were mobilised, on arrival further resources were required and St. Just attended. A large area of gorse was alight and being fanned by high winds, crews used beaters and also allowed the fire to burn to natural breaks. Crews were on scene for a considerable time with the last appliance returning at approximately 0330 hours. Arson was suspected. Devon & Cornwall Police have been informed.
Crews returned at 0700 on Wednesday to reinspect for hot spots.
