On reports of an axle fire on a tanker containing aviation fuel, appliances from Saltash, Callington and a Plymouth appliance also the foam trailer from Bodmin were mobilised. On arrival at the scene the crews quickly extinguished the fire, which was contained to the axle, high pressure hosereel jets were used and the crews remained for a time cooling down and ensuring the scene was safe.
One appliance remained on scene as a precaution while the contents of the tanker were transferred to another resource.
