Two crews from Falmouth attended a call to a gas main leaking and smoking in the middle of Vernon Place. Properties in the area had lost all power and the Police were requested to attend the incident scene to close the road. Wales and West electricity engineers and gas engineers attended the incident and isolated the utilities at their relevant sub stations. Crews checked adjacent properties and their basements. Once searched, all properties were declared safe. Crews remained on site until the area affected in the road had been excavated and it was confirmed that there was a gas leak with no electrical shorting.
