On receipt of this call, appliances from Falmouth were mobilised, on arrival there was a confirmed fire and further resources were required, further appliances from Truro and Redruth also the command support unit from Truro attended.

The fire was confirmed on the RFA Argus and is believed to involve a quantity of rags in the lower decks, teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed with a jet also the thermal image camera to monitor the scene, crews then withdrew and monitored the situation, with the ships ventilation system in use removing any smoke from within the vessel.

Update at 1400 hours: The fire is now extinguished and the crews have left the scene and returned to their home stations.
