There are 5 pumping appliances, the command support unit and the breathing apparatus support unit in attendance, crews are setting into the open water of the harbour, they have donned breathing apparthus and have set up two ground monitors. This fire is involving oxygen and propane cylinders and crews are working defensively for their safety. This is all the information will have at this time for this incident.

Update at 0200 hours: The crews currently have a number of jets in use fighting the fire, the surrounding area is being evacuated by officers of Devon & Cornwall Police. No further information is available at this time.

Update at 0230 hours: Newquay Sports Centre has been requested to open so that all persons can be evacuated to the premises.

Update at 0245 hours: A loud explosion has occurred. No personnel were within the risk area. The crews are still fighting the fire defensively at this time.

Update at 0330 hours: The fire has now spread and is involving an adjoining building. Crews are still fighting the fire defensively. A total of six jets are in use at this time.

Update at 0700 hours: Crews are still in attendance and fighting the fire defensively.
