Two appliances from Truro were mobilised to a reported gorse fire on the railway embankment. The crews soon asked for a water carrier to assist and also a third pumping appliance. The water carrier from Newquay was sent on along with a third appliance from St Austell. The crews are fighting a gorse fire with a 10m front on the railway embankment. All trains in both directions have been stopped by Network Rail. We have no further information at this time.
Update 1230 - incident still ongoing. Trains have now resumed service on the downline only. Crews will be delayed some considerable time.
Update 1300 - the stop is now in for this incident and crews are now making up their equipment. They expect to be delayed for approximately another hour.
Update 1320 - both railway lines are now being reopened.
