At 22:19 this evening Cornwall Fire Control recieved a call from a passer by who had seen a member of the public falling into the Par river. Crews from St Austell, Fowey, Lostwithiel, along with specialist line rescue kit and water rescue appliances from Bodmin, St Austell and Falmouth also attended.
Upon their arrival crews found one casualty stuck in the river. To gain access, after confirming with Network Rail that the train line had been closed, crews had to cross the main Penzance to Plymouth train line.
Once crews had gained access to the river, crews used a triple extension ladder and dry suits to rescue the casualty.
Once rescued the casualty was then placed in the care of Ambulance crews. Police also attended this incident.
