Following reports of a property on fire, firefighters from St Columb and St Dennis were mobilised.

On arrival they found a bungalow, measuring about twelve metres by six metres, to be well alight.

Initially, it was not known if anyone was inside the property but it was quickly established that all persons were accounted for.

Further assistance was requested and a fire appliance from Newquay was mobilised.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hosereels to bring the blaze under control by 0400hrs.

Crews remained on scene for a further two hours damping down.

There were no casualties as a result of this fire and the cause of the fire is not suspicious.
