Firefighters from Helston, Mullion and Camborne dealt with six cars that had been set on fire.

The first call was received in Fire Control at 0513hrs to Bulwark Road, where firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hosereels to deal with car fires.

Approximately half an hour later firefighters wearing breathing apparatus from Mullion used one hosereel to extinguish another car that had been set alight in the car park in Tyacke Road.

At 0632hrs Camborne firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished a car fire that was parked close to a building. The fire damaged the fascia boards and guttering of a garage attached to a nursing home. The smoke had also actuated the fire alarm.
