On receipt of several calls for this incident received at Fire Control, both appliances from Newquay and one from St. Columb were mobilised. On arrival there was a message 'smoke issuing' sent, this was passed to attending crews. The fire was on the second floor of a block of flats. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a jet and high pressure hosereel to extinguish the fire. West Country Ambulance were requested to treat a casualty for the effects of smoke inhilation. Crews continued to cut away and check the roof space and damp down. All appliances had returned to home stations by approximately 2015.
