Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service firefighters at Falmouth Community Fire Station have confirmed that the spectacular venue for their popular 5 November firework display will be the grounds of Pendennis Castle.
The castle will provide a fantastic backdrop to what is one of Falmouth’s great community events.
Last year the event raised over £2000 for local charities including the Handstand Appeal, the Children’s Hospice South West Precious Lives Appeal, Mawnan preschool and The Brea Theatre group.
The drawbridge comes down at 6pm and all are invited into the grounds to take part in the medieval themed festivities. Chairoplanes, smack the rat, hog roast, toffee apples, candy floss, doughnuts and soups as well as a spectacular firework display will keep the whole family happy.
Entry is £4 for adults and £2 for Under 16s.
Falmouth firefighter Matt Glover said “The onset of Autumn and darker evenings doesn’t mean you need to stay indoors. Come and join us at Pendennis for a visual feast fit for King Henry himself.”
Any local charities who wish to be considered as a recipient of a donation from the profit made from this year’s event should contact Giles Kent in writing at Falmouth Community Fire Station, Trescobeas Road, TR11 2LQ.
