Property Fire - Fatality
Meadowside, Whitstone, between Bude and Launceston at 06/11/2009 09:10
A 999 call was received at just after 0900hrs this morning, reporting a fire in a property with a person inside.
Two fire appliances from Bude and one fire appliance from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service’s Holsworthy Fire Station attended. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the smoke-logged building and found an elderly man in the hallway. Unfortunately, the occupant has subsequently been declared deceased.
Firefighters extinguished the fire using one hosereel and a fire investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
