Fire engines from Redruth, Camborne and Perranporth attended a fire in a scout hut in Redruth this morning. The building contained asbestos, so a warning was immediately issued to the public in the area, to shut their windows and doors. The fire was extinguished quickly although most of the building was destroyed as it had been burning for sometime before the brigade were called. A fire investigation is now taking place.
