Two fire appliances from Redruth, one fire appliance from Camborne and the water carrier from Newquay are on scene at a large barn fire. The barn was well alight on the crews arrival and the fire involved 80% of the straw contents. A 250 gallon diesel tank was also alight. The barn measures 30 metres by 15 metres and the fire crews are using four breathing apparatus, two ground monitors, one jet and one hosereel to extinguish the fire.

Farm equipment is currently being used to remove straw bales from the barn.

The cause of the fire is not suspicious and firefighters will remain in attendance for some considerable time.
