Car Into Harbour - Person Trapped - Multi-agency Response

Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service is attending along with Coastguard, RNLI lifeboats, a SAR helicopter, Police, Ambulance and the Harbourmaster, reports of a car that has gone into the water at Porthleven Harbour with a person inside.

Firefighters from Helston, Penzance and Camborne along with Water Rescue specialist teams from Falmouth and St Austell are in attendance. The fire crews are working on the inshore lifeboat to stabilise the vehicle and search for the occupant. Attempts will be made using a dock crane to recover the vehicle.

Update 2215hrs - The vehicle has now been recovered from the harbour using a dock-side crane. The occupant has been extricated from the vehicle and is now in care of ambulance personnel.
