Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service were called to attend an incident involving a vehicle which had driven down a steep unclassified road and due to icy road conditions had become stuck on a steep incline. There were two passengers in the vehicle, one male and one pregnant female. Upon the Fire Services attendance the vehicle had been secured to a telegraph pole and the vehicle occupants were unable to leave the car without the threat of serious injury.
Due to the treacherous icy road conditions crews were unable to access the vehicle using Fire appliances.
Cornwall Highways attended the scene to close the road, Police and Ambulance crews also attended.
After assessing the situation Fire crews rescued the cars occupants using a stretcher, safety at height and confined spaces pack and general purpose lines.
Once rescued Police crews conveyed the casualties to a safe place.
