Child Rescued From Being Trapped In Sand

2 appliances from Newquay, ambulance and coastguard crews attended a report of a child trapped in sand with the tide rising. Fire crews used a high pressure hosereel to release the suction surrounding the child and enable their rescue. This was achieved by 1942hrs.

Leaflets issued by the Maritime Coastguard Agency giving advice on Beach Safety are available from Lifeguards, Coastguard Stations and many public places.
