At present the FRS are in attendence & fighting a serious fire in an industrial unit. It is believed to contain gas cylinders. A 200 metre cordon has been set up. Evacuation of properties is at this time in progress. Five fire appliances are currently at the scene 45 firefighters are involved dealing with the incident.

This fire involved a two storey building measuring approximately 40 metres by 20 metres which was being used as a workshop. Appliances from Liskeard, Callington, Looe, Lostwithiel and Saltash together with specialist vehicles from St Austell and Truro, also the aeriel ladder platform from Newquay attended. Firefighters used six breathing apparatus, four jets and two ground monitors to extinguish the fire, the building has been destroyed. All residents were allowed back to their homes by approximately 0145hrs this morning.
A fire investigation team will liase with Police this morning to investigate tthe cause of the fire, although at this time it is being treated as suspected arson.
