Barn Fire

Appliances from Padstow and Wadebridge and the water carrier from Newquay attended a barn fire near St Merryn. The barn measuring approximately forty metres by sixty metres, was well alight when crews arrived. The barn contained fertilizer which was not involved in fire, there was also a tractor and trailer and bales of hay. Firefighters wearing four breathing apparatus and using ground monitors and jets are still fighting the fire. At 1735hrs crews were making good progress turning over and damping down.

There will be further updates as and when more information becomes available.

Update 1900hrs: The fire crews have finished damping down and have now left the scene.
