Thirty firefighters from Mullion, Helston and St Keverne are attending a gorse fire, to which access is difficult.

Further details will be posted, as they become available.

Update 2050hrs: A further two fire crews have been requested and they are attending from Camborne and Falmouth. The Command Support Vehicle from Truro is also attending.

There are two seperate areas of gorse alight, one with a half mile front.

Update 2200hrs: The fire is now under control. Firefighters have used beaters and the area of gorse burnt is approximately 40 hectares. Crews remain in attendance allowing small areas of gorse to burn themselves out at natural fire breaks.

Update 2230hrs: All crews have now left the incident. In total about 50 firefighters attended with five fire appliances, three off-road fire appliances and the Command Support Vehicle.
