Firefighters from Mullion, St Keverne and Helston are attending a gorse fire on the downs.

Further details will be posted, as they become available.

Update 0130hrs: The fire is burning with a 200 metre front. Beaters are being used to fight the blaze.

Update 0150hrs: The fire is now under control. The crews will be detained for about 30 minutes beating out hotspots.

Update 0220hrs: All the fire crews have now left the scene. Arson is suspected and the police are now dealing.
