At 1939 this evening the Fire & Rescue Service had a call to a kitchen fire in Lowertown, Helston. Two appliances from Helston attended along with a Wholetime Officer.

The crews extinguished the fire using one hosereel and two breathing apparatus. The crews also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the property of smoke. One casualty was treated by West Country Ambulance Service suffering from smoke inhalation.
