At 2134hrs the fire service were called to a property in St Ives which is monitored by Carrick Lifeline.
The Carbon Monoxide alarm was activated because a portable gas fire in the lounge of the dwelling had emitted carbon monoxide fumes. Because the detector was linked to the Carrick Lifeline the FRS were called and promptly attended the property and ventilated the dwelling. The occupier was treated by the firefighers with oxygen at the scene and an ambulance was requested. The gentleman was then taken to hospital for further observations.
