Neighbours were alerted to smoke coming from the next doors letter box by a fire alarm today.
Firefighters from St Column and St Dennis were mobilised and confirmed on arrival that the property was empty and smoke logged.
The crews forced entry to the house to find a pan that had been left on the cooker.
Luckily the neighbour had been alerted quickly by the alarm and no damage was caused.
