At 2359 last night Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service received a call to a timber chalet. On Arrival of the St. Columb appliance, further assistance was required as the chalet was well alight. Further appliances from Padstow and Newquay were sent. The Chalet measured approximately 12 metres by 6 metres in size and was totally destroyed by the fire. 3 propane gas cylinders were also involved. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire. Ground monitors were set up to cool the propane cylinders until they were cool and made safe. There is no further information available at this time.
