2 appliances from St Just and an appliance from Penzance were mobilised following several calls to an explosion and fire in a house with persons reported trapped. On arrival crews found that a terraced property 7m by 6m had severe damage from the explosion to the roof and first floor. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used 2 jets and 2 hosereels to extinguish the fire in the ground and first floors. All the occupants had managed to escape and were left in care of ambulance crews. The property is not connected to mains gas and an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
