Fire and Road Traffic Collision

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service were called to a large fire of tyres which had accidentally caught alight from a bonfire. Two pumping appliances from Looe, one pumping appliance from Lostwithiel, one pumping appliance from Polruan, one pumping appliance from Bodmin and one pumping appliance from Liskeard were called to the incident. A total of 3 jets and 2 breathing apparatus were used. On route to the scene, the Lostwithiel appliance was diverted to a Road Traffic Collision on the B3359 near Pelynt where one male was trapped. The Polruan appliance attending the fire had to be diverted around the Road Traffic Collision and subsequent appliances from Liskeard and Bodmin. Crash Rescue Equipment was used to extracate the male casualty. No further information is available.
