Grill Pan Fire

Babis Farm Close, Saltash at 02/05/2010 20:13

A neighbour was alerted when a fire alarm sounded and, when they investigated, could smell burning.

Two fire appliances from Saltash attended and removed a pan from under a grill, that had inadvertently been left on. The crew ensured the scene was safe before leaving.

This incident highlights the importance of having working smoke alarms in your home. Primarily, they give an early warning of fire to allow the best possible chance of escape. In this case, however, it alerted a neighbour who was able summon the appropriate help to prevent a serious fire from destroying their neighbour's home.
