Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service is currently dealing with a serious fire at a detached bungalow in Yeolmbridge.

The initial call was made by a visitor to the bungalow and was received at around 2.50pm. The first 2 appliances were despatched from Launceston Community Fire Station and further 2 appliances were sent from Callington and Bude Community Fire Stations. A water carrier, command support vehicle and breathing apparatus support vehicle also attended the scene.

On arrival, crews reported that the property was well alight with flames issuing through the roof. Teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and one person was located. There is no confirmation yet on the condition of the person found in the property.

The fire is still ongoing but crews now have the situation under control.

A fire investigation team is on standby to enter the property once the fire is out.

Please note that the property is situated down a narrow road and access for media will be difficult.
