This afternoon crews from Callington rescued an elderly female from her smoke filled home. Upon crews arrival to the property the kitchen was full of smoke and the fire alarms were sounding. Crews forced entry to the rear of the premise using a sledge hammer and entered the property with two breathing apparatus and a hosereel. Crews rescued the occupant from an upstairs bedroom in the property. The smoke in the property was caused by a saucepan of food which had been left on the cooker, fire crews removed the burning pan to outside the house. Crews from Callington and Saltash ventilated the premise to reduce smoke damage and the casualty was treated by Ambulance crews for smoke inhalation.
