Firefighters from Redruth Community Fire Station will be making their own 999 call to the public on Saturday 10 July at Tesco Extra Super Store in Pool.
A team of six firefighters will be taking it in turns to run on a treadmill or row on a rowing machine for 9 hours, 9 minutes and 9 seconds to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
The team will start their marathon at 8am and aim to finish at 17.09pm and during breaks in their running and rowing efforts, firefighters will be on hand to offer community safety advice, leaflets and stickers as well as offer registration for free home fire safety checks.
Rob Hosking, Firefighter at Redruth Community Fire Station says: “We would love as many people as possible to offer their support to our efforts to raise as much money as possible for the Fire Fighters Charity.”
