A fire which is believed to have started in a cleaning cupboard of the property caused extensive smoke damage throughout the building and fire damage to the ground floor.
The intial call to Cornwall County Fire Brigade was at 0535 hours, at which stage it was confirmed that there were persons still inside the building, however all residents had escaped prior to the arrival of the first appliance at 0537 hours.
Four appliances were involved in extinguishing the fire, and crews used breathing apparatus, hosereel jets and a thermal image camera.
