On receipt of calls for this incident, appliances from Wadebridge and Bodmin were mobilised, on arrival further resources were requested, the fire involved a Dutch barn measuring approximately 10 x 20 metres which was well alight, appliances from Wadebridge and Bodmin, also the water carriers from Wadebridge and Bodmin are all in attendance.
Update at 2030 hours: A total of three jets are in use at this time, the farmer is using his teleporter to also remove bales of hay from the barn.
Update at 2000 hours: Both water carriers are involved shuttling water to the incident ground, a total of five water jets are boundary cooling the area at this time.
Update at 2130 hours: Devon & Cornwall Police who were in attendance for traffic control have now closed the A39 from Bull Roundabout.
Update at 2300 hours: Crews are making steady progress and the incident is ongoing.
Update at 2330 hours: The incident will be ongoing throughout the night with crews using jets to extinguish the fire. Relief crews from Delabole and St. Columb will be in place from approximately 0100 hours.
Update at 0800 hours: The incident is now scaled dowm, one appliance from Wadebridge is still on scene, the crews are still fighting the fire and damping down, they will be on scene for a considerable time. The cause of the fire is believed accidental.
Update at 1345 hours: A fire appliance and crew from Bodmin has now relieved the Wadebridge crew. A jet is still in use damping down.
Update at 2130 hours: A relief fire appliance and crew from Wadebridge are making good progress damping down, with the assistance of the farmer. One jet is still in use.
Final update at 2355 hours: The firefighters from Wadebridge have completed damping down and have now left the scene. It is confirmed that the A39 has been re-opened.
