Two fire appliances from Callington were mobilised to a report of a fire in a wood yard.
On arrival the Officer-in-Charge requested a further two fire appliances, which were mobilised from Saltash, as the fire involves a large quantity of timber.
A subsequent request has been made for a water carrier and this is attending from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service's Plympton Fire Station.
Update 0450hrs: Firefighters are using two jets, two hosereels and a fire hydrant to fight the blaze, which involves about 50 tons of sawn timber.
Update 0530hrs: Just over 20 firefighters are now on scene using three jets and a hosereel to extinguish the fire.
Update 0606hrs: Crews have got the fire under control and some crews have been returned to their home stations. Two major appliances from Callington and Saltash and an Officer now remain at the incident.
Update 0645hrs: Good progress is being made with damping down hot spots. One fire appliance from Callington and one fire appliance from Saltash remain in attendance. All other fire appliances have now returned to their stations.
Update 0745hrs: Two fire crews remain in attendance damping down, using one jet.
