One appliance from Newquay and the rescue tender from Bodmin were mobilised on receipt of this call. On arrival it was found that an Inter City 125 had collided with a JCB. All persons were released prior to the arrival of the Brigade. The train, with approximately 30 passengers on board, was derailed. One person was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel. Cornwall Fire Brigade assisted at the scene and also stemmed a leak of diesel from the train. Further information may be obtained from British Rail.
