Today, Thursday 18th November, Cornwall FRS have been out in the communities affected by yesterday's severe flooding. Crews from St Austell, Lostwithiel and Mevagissey have been assisting people in the areas surrounding these towns, including St Blazey, Gorran Haven and outlying properties.

General assistance has been given, by helping to isolate electrical systems, where possible washing down mud etc by using hose reels, mops and brushes. Debris has been removed and drains cleared. Occupants have also been given advice and leaflets on flooding. Firefighters also found three properties which didn't have any smoke detectors, two were fitted in each home for the occupants.
