Dogs Fallen Down Mine Shaft

Firefighters from Helston along with the rescue tender and support appliance from Camborne, with specially trained line rescue crew, are in attendance at an incident involving two dogs that have fallen down a mine shaft.

Update 1340hrs : The fire crews have reported that the two dogs are trapped about twenty metres down a dry mine shaft. Shaft rescue equipment has been set up and a firefighter is being lowered into the shaft to rescue the dogs.

Update 1400hrs: Ben, a springer spaniel, and Rosie, a dalmation collie cross, have been successfully rescued by the firefighters, uninjured, and they have been handed back to their grateful owner.
