At 12:07 today Cornwall Fire Control recieved a call to a dog which had fallen down a mineshaft whilst out with its owners. Line rescue equipment and specialist trained Firefighters were mobilised from Camborne along with support crew from Redruth. Crews were on scene by 12:18 and began setting up equipment to rescue the dog from a 50 foot deep mineshaft which was dry at the bottom. At 13:06 crews were all set up and were ready to enter the mineshaft. A female Alsatian called Roxy was rescued from the mineshaft uninjured by being hoisted up in a pig net. The dog was then walked home by her owners.
