Two fire appliances from Newquay, two fire appliances from St Dennis, one fire appliance from Wadebridge, along with the operational support vehicle from St Austell and Decontamination Equipment from Bodmin attended a fire involving an end-of-terrace two storey derelict property. The firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, used four jets and one hosereel to extinguish the fire. Asbestos sheet roofing material was involved and the overhead electricity supply was affected.

Debris from the fire is across the road and the road is closed and will be for the remainder of the night.

Update 0030hrs: Firefighters are continuing to damp down the scene. Decontamination of equipment is under way.
